Release date for Netflix’s ‘A Quiet Place 2’ stands postponed due to coronavirus

Paramount Pictures’ post-apocalyptic horror ‘A Quiet Place2’, picked by Netflix duly stands postponed due to COVID-19. The sequel of the film ‘A Quiet Place’ was originally scheduled to release in March 2020. The date was then shifted to September 2020, that later again got postponed to April 2021 due to the prevailing pandemic situation. However, the filming and production for the sequel took place from June 2019 to September 2019.

The director and writer of the film, John Krasinki, on March 12, took to social media to inform how the pandemic has made it hard to bring out A Quiet Place 2. He tweeted, “One of the best things I’m most proud of is that people have said our movie is one you have to see all together. Well due to ever changing circumstances of what’s going on in the world around us, now is clearly not the right time to do that. As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie… I’m gonna wait to release the film till we CAN all see it together!”

About the movie A Quiet Place 2

A Quiet Place 2 is a sequel to the movie of the same name. Part one was released in 2016 that had left the viewers with a cliff-hanger ending. Fans have been waiting for the sequel for so long now.  A Quiet Place, written by Bryan Woods, Scott Banks, and Krasinki, is set in a post-apocalyptic world. It revolves around a father and a mother, played by Krasinki and Emily Blunt, respectively, who struggle to survive and raise their kids in a world occupied by monstrous creatures that have hypersensitive hearing, which attacks anything that makes noise.

The trailer for the sequel has already been released on February 12 2018. The full trailer was presented by Krasinki himself on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In ‘A Quiet Place 2’, Evelyn, Regan and Marcus reunite and venture out to link with fellow survivors.

The movie altogether has presented various interesting themes. It talked about parenthood and also was a comment on the prevailing social and political situations. However, Krasinki has always emphasized on the parenthood theme of the movie.

Reception:

A Quiet Place has received great reviews from the audience to the jury. It holds a 96% rating on Rotten tomatoes. Rolling Stone gave the 3.5 out of 4 and praised the movie’s theme on parenthood. The film has been nominated for so many awards including the Academy Award. It won Critic’s Choice Movie Awards for Best Sci/Horror movie, in 2019.

Expectations from the sequel, A Quiet Place 2 are high. The movie would have been released by early 2020 but currently, it stands postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19.
