JEE Mains 2021: Everything You Wanna Know About

The JEE main results are right around the corner and the questions are piling up.

The results will be declared on the official website- or

You will have to log-in to the JEE Main portal using your roll number and application number to access the results. The applicants can then download their scorecard in pdf format for future reference.

How many sessions?

JEE mains have 4 sessions each year in February, March, April, and May.

Score Vs. Percentile

The scorecard will show the marks as well as the percentile for each subject, as well as the overall score and percentile.

The percentile system is such that the person scoring the highest marks will be given a 100% percentile, and the rest will be given the percentile according to the scores obtained.

The merit list will be made according to the percentile of the applicants.

The Tie-Breaking rule

If 2 or more person score the same marks, the NTA has a tie-breaking rule, that is,

Results of Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3

The results of Paper 1, which is for BTech aspirants, Paper 2 for BArch, and JEE Main Paper 3 will be declared separately. The exact date of the result declaration is no known. The results of all 3 papers will release on the same date or one after the other in a span of few days.

What if you do not get your target score in JEE Main?

If you fail to score your target marks in JEE Main, then you can apply again for future exams to re-appear and have a shot at scoring your target marks. You can apply for April or May session registration.

After you clear JEE Mains:

After you clear JEE mains, the top 2,50,000 aspirants can apply for JEE Advanced 2021

When should you expect JEE Main All India Rank list:

The JEE Main All India Rank list will release after the declaration of the April-May session results. It will include the top candidates and the JEE Main 2021 topper.

The cut-off marks for JEE Main 2020 are as follows:

BTech: Common Rank List-90.3765335

OBC- 72.8887969

Economically weaker section- 70.2435518

The application window for upcoming sessions:

The application window for upcoming sessions will be open right after the previous sessions’ results are declared for a short period of time. The applicants have to be actively aware of the notifications and apply accordingly.

Separate forms for separate sessions?

One application will provide one candidate form for all sessions, once you log-in to the JEE portal, the application form will remain the same, and you can apply for future sessions. You can apply for all 4 sessions together or separately, as per your choice. And if the candidate has paid the fees for all 4 sessions and does not wish to sit for all 4 sessions, he/she can request NTA for a refund.
