Presented in world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 2 before being broadcast on Netflix on the 23rd, the new film by Romain Gavras, Athena is revealed through a first trailer posted online this Wednesday.
In his new feature film, the director of world is yours tells the story of Abdel and his brother’s death as a result of an alleged police intervention. Athena is the third feature film by Romain Gavras. For the screenplay, the director worked with his sidekick Ladj Ly, who won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019 for Wretched.
On the casting side, Romain Gavras called on Anthony Bajon, Ouassini Embarek, Sami Slimane and Dali Benssalah, noticed in the latest James Bond Dying can waitfor the lead role of Abdel.
