This Sunday September 11 will be carried out Life Lima Marathon 42K, a sporting event in which thousands of people are expected to participate. The long-distance race will go through different districts of the capital such as: Breña, Jesús María, Lince, San Isidro and Miraflores.
According to information from Beat, this day would present atypical mobility schedules since users would start with requests for services very early. It is expected that a large part will choose to use mobility applications to return home after the race.
For this reason, and before the closure of some streets, Beat offers some route recommendations so that its users can mobilize despite the restrictions from the first hours of the day. Next, information to take into account to transit without problems.
The concentration of the athletes begins at 5 in the morning, at the different points designated as the starting point. The starting time of the 10K participants will be at 6:30 in the morning; while the 21K and 42K will depart at 7:30 in the morning.
The 3 modalities will start from Av. Larco, in front of the Municipality of Miraflores. The 10K route will continue along Av. Arequipa to Av. La Habana, while the participants of the 21K route will have to reach Av. Paseo de la República. Runners who will do the 42K marathon will have to complete the entire route twice. Finally, all the contestants will arrive at Av. Diagonal, near Kennedy Park.
“During this type of event, peak hours and the way users move are modified in relation to any given Sunday. To avoid inconveniences, we recommend that our users leave home on time and move efficiently, reviewing the routes that optimize the time of arrival at the chosen destination”, says Fausto Liñan, City Operations Manager of Beat Peru.
If this weekend you need to travel through the avenues mentioned above, Beat recommends opting for alternative routes such as the Circuit of Beaches, Av. Petit Thouars, Av. Arenales, Av. Conquistadores, Av. Brasil, Av. Salaverry and Vía Expresa, of this way people will be able to plan and carry out their activities taking the necessary precautions.
Although the activity ends at 3:00 pm, some avenues will be gradually released for vehicle traffic access. The traffic police and municipal transport inspectors will guide drivers on available access routes and alternate routes in order to avoid vehicular congestion.
