In 2018, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel chose Campus Manilla as the school for Princess Estelle, where little Prince Oscar also started this year.
The school located on Djurgården is highly sought after by Sweden’s business leaders, millionaires and royalty. Last year alone, 11,000 children were in the queue, of which 1,000 were in pre-school class.
But now reporting The Express that many children feel “unsafe” at school.
Harsh criticism of Estelle and Oscar’s school Campus Manilla
There have been storms around Campus Manilla in the past. The same year that Estelle started, the school’s first principal was forced out, which led to a conflict among several of the students’ influential parents. There were also reports to the School Inspectorate about violations and “chaos” in teaching.
But the shortcomings were remedied and a better environment was experienced again. But now it seems that new shortcomings have arisen, which, according to Expressen, has led to pupils not enjoying themselves.

Already last spring, a letter, signed by several high-ranking people, was sent to the principal stating that there are “groupings and bad fellowship, harsh jargon, disturbances and physical violations at the school”, the newspaper writes.
Since then, many parents have chosen to move their children from school.
The principal’s response after the parents’ protest
The school’s current principal Robert Mellander, on the other hand, believes that the school environment and the community are generally “great”.
– It is a school with almost 800 students and works incredibly well in most cases, but situations can arise that are not good and then we work on it. It is part of the school’s everyday life, he tells Expressen.

He continues:
– What we encounter with young people is that you may not say such nice things to each other, that you become enemies or don’t respect work order sufficiently. It can be in both teaching contexts, in corridors and in the schoolyard. There can be different situations depending on age and maturity.
Mellander further believes that Campus Manilla is constantly working on “prevention, promotion and remediation”.
Yes, we really have to hope that the children at school are not unwell, including Estelle and Oscar! Data like the above must be really worrying for any parent.
