In Denmark right now there is joy, of course, however, edged by the sadness of the late Queen Elizabeth. But at the same time, the country’s Queen Margrethe is celebrating 50 years on the throne, and this weekend is the grand finale for the anniversary year.
Our king and queen are there to pay tribute to Margrethe, she is actually the king’s cousin, and the entire Danish royal family with them. But during Sunday’s lunch at the royal pleasure hunt, one of the princesses was missing…
Here, Silvia hides her sadness at this year’s big gala party – just days after the announcement
Had to hide the sadness
Despite the circumstances, the celebration took place, but there were several adaptations according to Queen Margrethe’s wishes. The big gala performance yesterday in the Royal Theatre, where the Swedish royal couple sat in the seat of honour, began with a minute’s silence in honor of Elizabeth.
In addition to changing the activities carried out, some were cancelled. Including the entire party procession and the royal family’s planned appearance on the castle balcony. There would also be festivities in Copenhagen City Hall with an official lunch postponed indefinitely.
And certainly it was noticed that the royals wore a veil of sadness over them, despite the festive circumstances.

That’s why she was missed
During Sunday, it is again a full schedule for the guests. The day began with Margrethe’s celebration service in Vor Frue Kirk, with over 800 guests, but this too turned out to be more subdued than previously planned.
The royal family and guests then headed out on the water for lunch on the royal yacht Dannebrog. It was a specially selected guest list – but there was a family member who was suddenly missing. When the Danish crown prince family, Frederik, Mary, Christian, Vincent and Josephine arrived, Isabella was missing.

She had attended Saturday’s festivities, and it is odd that she misses this historic celebration. But it all has a natural explanation. Isabella has recently started ninth grade at her new school, Ingrid Jespersen’s Gymnasium, and is on a class trip at the moment, the Danish court told See and Hear.
During the evening, the celebration ends with a grand gala party at Christiansborg Castle.
