At Manchester United, the owner could apparently change. As the ‘Times’ reports, the English billionaire and CEO of the chemical company Ineos Jim Ratcliffe is interested in the Red Devils. “If the club is for sale then Jim is definitely a potential buyer”confirms an Ineos spokesman.

Ratcliffe is no stranger to the sports world. Ineos maintains a professional cycling team and competes with a boat in the America’s Cup. The company gained a foothold in football in 2017 and bought the Swiss first division club FC Lausanne-Sport. Ligue 1 club OGC Nice followed in 2019. At United, owner Glazer initially only wants to sell a small part of the shares. But Ratcliffe’s plan is clear. “If something like this were possible, we would be interested in discussions with a view to a long-term acquisition”said the spokesman.
