Demon Slayer: an ode to family
Kimetsu no yaiba is the story of Tanjiro Kamado and his little sister Nezuko, while we might believe in a beautiful story without hassle, the result is quite different as evidenced by the synopsis of the work.
Japan, Taisho era. Tanjiro Kamado is a nice boy, who supports his family by selling charcoal. As he returns home, in the mountains, he discovers his whole family horribly massacred by a demon. The sole survivor is her younger sister, Nezuko. But to add to her misfortune, she herself was transformed into a demon! Heart and soul broken by these terrible events, Tanjiro decides to become a demon hunter, in order to avenge his family and free his sister from her curse. He then embarks on a path of which he still knows nothing…
For those who have not yet read or watched Koyoharu Gotōge’s masterpiece, we will not venture to tell you more to leave you surprised. Be aware, however, that the manga has already been completed for almost two years and that fans are still waiting for the end of the anime. Season 3, which will be the direct sequel to the pleasure district (season 2), should arrive in 2023.
