As far as is known, the attempt to remake the classic role-playing game of Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Bioware has had several problems, as two of the main developers of the game had been fired, in addition to the fact that this title was expected to arrive in 2022, it was now shaping up to be released in 2025, but now, a new report says that things could be worse.
It all kicks off with a story on Bloomberg, where it was shared that development of the game, which has already been halted, has now been completely taken away from Aspyr, the Austin-based developer, and moved to “one of Saber Interactive’s Eastern European studios”Y The Embracer Group he owns Aspyr and Saber, but this only confuses us more.
Well, one of the Group’s AAA projects has moved to another studio within the same company, and this was done to ensure that the quality bar is where we need it to be for the title, so we don’t expect any major or extra delays for the game based on this transition.
Furthermore, it was speculated at the time that this project might have been KOTORand the Bloomberg report, which also says that Sony and Disney, “both have financial interests in the game, they were upset with the progress under Aspyr”but it certainly makes this seem likely.
Saber had even already been involved in the project in an assisting capacity, with CEO Mathew Karch telling investors earlier in the year: “We are completely confident that the game will be fantastic, but it is a massive, massive product and massive products take a lot of effort and a lot of time to get right. And especially when you’re talking about a game [que es] already old, very old, we basically had to remake that game from scratch.”
Now, we have to admit that all of this doesn’t bode well for the game, or at least its hopes of coming out anytime soon, but let’s not forget that the original was released way back in 2003, so it’s not like we can’t expect one or two more years for a new version, we just want it to be worth the wait.
