Kicillof together with the president of the bank Province / Government
Governor Axel Kicillof again targeted the opposition yesterday and demanded that the Legislature approve the pension reform for Banco Provincia employees.
“I once again ask our opposition, with the damage they have already done, now to help us fix it. Because that law that they brought out has been judicialized, so we have more than 3,500 lawsuits, and the Supreme Court demanded that we resolve it, ”he assured.
“Stop inflating and approve the law because we need to change it. Stop going around and doing cheap politics and approve it”, demanded the Governor.
During the management of María Eugenia Vidal, a rule was passed with the declared objective of reducing the deficit of the Retirement Fund, which by the end of the year would be around 19 billion pesos. Thus, the retirement age for women was increased from 60 to 65 years, the percentage of retirement was reduced from 82 to 70% and another central issue was established: that it be the bank itself with its profits that takes care of the red of the pension system to get that backpack out of the State.
The reform generated an avalanche of judicial claims from retirees who argue that acquired rights were violated. With 4,000 injunctions in favor of the claimants, the Supreme Court tried mediation and requested a political solution before ruling the rule unconstitutional, which would generate a millionaire impact on the Province.
The political agreement was advancing until the text of the reform reached Mauricio Macri. The former president stopped the PRO deputies in their tracks with the argument that what was going to be voted on increased public spending. The debate was frustrated and the reform project that gives land with several changes that Vidal introduced, was stranded in the Chamber of Deputies.
