Who isn’t familiar with the all-famous supernatural drama horror series Locke and Key. Rated 7.4 out of 10 on IMDb and 66% on Rotten Tomatoes, this series is worth all the attention and positive reviews it got since its release last year, 7th February 2020.
Locke and Key is a Netflix Original series originally released as TV Series, written by the novelist Josh Friedman; it was developed by Dream Works Production and 20th Century Fox Television. Only 1 season has been released, which has 10 episodes, and the second season will be released and premiered in 2021.
It is based on the novel Locke and Key by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, and it is developed by Carlton Cuse, Meredith Averill, and Aron Eli Coleite.
The Pilot episode of this series, “Welcome to Matheson,” is written by the novel writer Joe Hill and Aron Eli Coleite and directed by Michael Morris. It explains how the Locke Family was relocated to the Matheson mansion after the murder of Rendell.

A Journey To Remember
The kids find different keys to the mysterious key house throughout their stay, which helped them travel to different dimensions and portals around an imaginary place.
They didn’t know what key would open which place. The game of hiding, running, and escaping with intelligence and understanding starts for the family, and each member finds themselves in critical situations and ethical dilemmas.
Other episodes follow the pilot episode, Trapper/ Keeper; Head Games; The Keepers of the Keys; Family Tree; The Black Door; Dissection; Ray of f****ing sunshine; Echoes, and the last episode Crown of the Shadows.
This series’s main characters are Nina Locke, who is the motherly head of the Locke Family and is played by the actress of Madmen and Scandal, Darby Stanchfield.

Role Played By Actors
Tyler Locke, Kinsey Locke, and Bode Locke are the eldest, middle, and youngest family children. The roles are played by Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, and Jackson Robert Scott. The story revolves around Rendall Locke, who is Nina’s husband and was murdered. Bill Heck played the role.
After the family moved to their ancestral home they found various mysterious events happening in the house. They find various keys that were supernaturally connected, and the weirdest part was they were connected to their father’s death.
The house and circumstances are even haunted by the demon ‘well lake,’ and the three kids of the Locke Family find ways to find the unique powers of various keys they found.
They came across different secrets that made them tremble, facts that shook them, and it revolved around love, pain, gain, and unshakable family bonds.
Overcoming their fear, taking assistance from various spirits, and finding out unveiling secrets of the pasts. These three kids helped each other fight the problems and find solutions to the mystery of the murder, house, and spirits.
In the last episode, Crown of Shadows, they fought a battle over the Omega Key, which opened doors to many different and dangerous problems ahead in their paths. It feels like an adventure ride with the key house, which left so many clues and tricks for the users to guide themselves throughout the series.

Even despite the series being so much magical and mind-blowing, the audience was able to relate themselves with the actors and their stories. They were able to relate to and love the relationship between the kids and their father.
The emotional bonds between all the three siblings were very realistic and appreciated by the viewers. The different doors opening to a different portal were inspired by Narnia and Land of the Lost movies.
Twists and Turns
The various twists and turns through each episode’s succession, the beauty of the storyline, and the aesthetics used in the movie, for, eg. The house of the ancestral Locke family was worth the appreciation. The cinematography of the series is also amazing, filled with beautiful color palettes.
The cinematographers were Tico Poulakakis and Colin Hoult, who put their hearts out to put forward this amazing storyline in the most presentable way.
The story and background related to different keys like Omega Key, Fire Key, Anywhere Key, Face Key, etc., is mind-boggling to a different extent, the mystery making its way into the soulful teen life drama.
It was the perfect blend of all the different emotions that, as a user, we expect to feel from a show, that is, suspense, horror, sci-fi, mystery, comedy.
The different editors of Locke and Key are Matthew V. Colonna, Lilly Urban, Paul Trejo, Andrew Behrens, and Philip Fowler who made this show possible and lovable for the audience by their amazing skills and talent.
Overall the audience will find this show in an interesting premise with a great story and effects.
