Public relations webdesk. You can make many things like parotta, dumplings, curries etc. with spinach, but spinach is very useful for both children and adults. You can make spinach dal by mixing tur or chick dal or all the dal. But today we are going to make it mixed with chickpeas which is very easy to make and delicious. You can eat it with bread or rice.
1 bundle – Spinach (cleaned and finely chopped)
One cup of chickpeas
1- Tomato (finely chopped)
Salt – as per taste
Turmeric – teaspoon
1 teaspoon – ginger-garlic paste
One teaspoon- cumin-black pepper powder
1 teaspoon- coriander powder
Two green chillies (chopped)
1 teaspoon – Cumin
A pinch of asafoetida
7-8 curry leaves
A dry red chili
2 tsp mustard oil
Cook 5-6 shis or lentils in a cooker with spinach, washed chickpeas, chopped tomatoes, salt and turmeric on medium heat until cooked. Now heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, asafoetida, dry red chillies and curry leaves. Add chopped green chillies. Now fry ginger with garlic paste. Add coriander powder and cumin-chilly powder and fry for a minute. Now mash well with boiled dal. And let it cook for a while on low heat. Make sure that the dal is not too thin. Let it thicken. Serve hot with dal roti or rice.
Note- According to cooking experts, you can use ghee instead of oil. Ghee enhances the taste. Also, instead of gram dal, you can make it with tur dal only.
