This Monday will take place the presentation of the book “The Long Night of the Pencils” by Emilce Molerone of the four survivors of the tragic episode in 1976 that involved the kidnapping of high school students from La Plata. Will be This Monday at 5:00 p.m., at the headquarters of the PJ Platense in 54 between 7 and 8.
In this work, the author sensitively and in detail constructs all the events that marked her when she was seventeen years old: her student militancy, her kidnapping, the captivity in the Pozo de Arana, the torture, his imprisonment in the Devoto prison, the loneliness and the will to survive. Moler reflects in a genuine way on that time and recovers his own writings from prison, that give an account of his youth crossed by pain and the commitment to change the social reality.
This collection post urgent history offers an essential story in the first person to keep alive the memory and the fight for human rights and invites us to think about the entire generation of the 70sespecially, in those adolescents who embraced their ideals, took risks and gave their lives to build a more just and equal society.
With The Long Night of the Pencils, Moler also seeks to leave a legacy so that the youngest can fight for a collective exit, and remember that the horrors must never be repeated.
This presentation and talk at the PJ headquarters in La Plata is organized by the Ministry of Youth, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Human Rights. The moderator will Andres Carpinetti and the Buenos Aires deputy will also speak Ariel Archanco.
