The power of being present in a relationship

Dog Behavior Series 7 – Why Do Dogs Shake?

Some cat breeds are low maintenance, while others require frequent brushing. Cat breeds aren’t as diverse as different dog breeds, but there are still some powerful different types of cats out there. Some cat breeds are human pets and there are other cat breeds that prefer to be aloof and independent. Some cat breeds are more prone to fits of silence, but sometimes individual cats from the louder breeds aren’t very talkative either.

Cats are unique

Cats have amazing abilities to hear, see and smell. Cats also roll their ears back when playing or listening to a sound coming from behind them. Cats also use contact to communicate urgency, from gentle reminders of feeding time to a demanding, insistent rub. Cats engaged in a conflict may stretch their full-bristled tail straight up in the air and turn their bodies sideways to appear taller.

Characteristics of cat breeds

Some cat breeds require a lot of brushing and grooming to keep them happy and healthy, and others only shed twice a year. Breeds are more commonly distinguished by their body and face, and sometimes by distinctive physical features such as tailless or folded ears. Keep in mind that no two kittens are the same, but, much like purebred dogs, different breeds of cats tend to have their own unique characteristics that may or may not affect your decision. Some cat breeds get along better with children or other pets, while other cat breeds are more aloof and prefer a more solitary existence.

What to expect in house cats

Domestic cats eat relatively little plant matter. Domestic cats are usually white, black, yellow, or gray, and sometimes have markings of a different color. Domestic mixed-breed cats are generally characterized by long, thin tails, straight ears, and short hair of various colors. While most domestic cats are not purebred cats (only 3% belong to a specific cat breed), there is a wide variety of breeds and most domestic cats reflect the characteristics of one or more of the different cat breeds.

Feline behavior

Knowing what normal cat behavior is helps in training cats and in treating problematic cat behavior. Play-motivated aggressive behavior is commonly seen in young, active cats under the age of two. The game includes a variety of behaviors such as: B. exploratory, inquiring and predatory, and provides young cats with an opportunity to practice skills they would normally need to survive. Treats can help during playtime, but try to limit their use as positive rewards for changing behavior. Cats are very social; A major difference in social behavior between cats and dogs (to which they are often compared) is that cats do not have a social survival strategy or “pack mentality”. However, this only means that cats possess their own basic needs. With proper training and social behavior reinforcement, poorly socialized cats can become more social over time. Hunting has also become a central part of their behavioral patterns, even their penchant for short bursts of intense movement interrupting long periods of rest. The cat appears to enjoy the scratching behavior, and even clawless cats will go through elaborate scratching routines with all signs of great satisfaction despite the total lack of results.

Conclusion

Some of the most popular cat breeds are Persian, Himalayan, Ragdoll, Siamese and Maine Coon. The more aloof cat breeds are: Norwegian Forest, Russian Shorthair and Nebelung. While it’s true that most cat breeds have certain traits, cats are very individual and a cat of a breed known for its independence could actually be very dependent. However, with a little research, you can certainly determine which cat breeds are right for your own situation.
