Chickpeas 1 cup
– Ghee 2 tbsp
– Fennel powder 1/2 tsp
– Flour 1 cup
– Salt as required
– Refined oil 1/2 tsp
Jaggery 1 cup
Green cardamom powder 1 tsp
Nutmeg powder 1 tsp
Turmeric 1/4 tsp
– 1/4 cup of water
Recipe for Puran Polly-
To make this, first heat a pan with ghee on medium flame.
Then add lentils and fry for about 2-3 minutes.
After that, you add jaggery, ginger powder, cardamom powder, fennel powder and nutmeg powder to it.
Then you mix all these things well and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
After that you turn off the gas and let the mixture cool.
Then grind the dal well with a masher.
Then add all purpose flour, turmeric, salt to taste and refined oil in a bowl.
Then knead stiff dough with water as needed.
Then divide the kneaded dough into 3 parts and keep them aside.
Then you take a portion of the dough and make a space in the middle of it.
After that, fill the center with gram-molasses mixture.
Then you close it and make it into a ball shape.
After that grease your hands a little and make a bread out of it.
Then you roll it with a rolling pin and make bread.
Then take a non stick pan and heat it on gas.
Then place your prepared bread on it and cook it on medium heat by applying ghee on both sides.
Now your delicious old polly is ready.
Then serve with hot tea or coffee.
