Ragdolls are perfect apartment cats; but that’s it – they’re not the type to hunt mice or other things that a normal cat should do. That doesn’t mean they don’t like to smell the fresh air every now and then though; Just be careful not to leave them unattended as they are quite helpless outside of their typical environment – they can get lost, be easily stolen (they really love strangers, especially the smelly ones), get hit by a car or worse, them scare your dog.
They learn very quickly what they should and shouldn’t do; However, that doesn’t mean they always do what they’re supposed to do—they know it’s wrong, but keep doing it. Ragdoll cats can easily become accustomed to traveling or wearing a collar, especially if you think about it from an early age.
Ragdolls are perhaps the most sociable of cats. They are very attached to their owner and people in general, and usually enjoy the company of other cats. Of course there are exceptions (my cat is one of them – she really hates all non-human species). As true family cats, Ragdolls enjoy being around children, just not the ones who constantly torment them
Young ragdoll kittens tend to be quite active, while older ones tend to make good-natured, quiet partners. Ragdolls often like to fetch thrown toys, others prefer a combination of hide and seek with you. They are always happy if you spend some time playing with them.
Ragdolls often respond with their low, quiet voice when called. Their sounds are very expressive and sometimes you think they are answering you.
If you need a lovable and always trusting pet, then the Ragdoll cat is definitely a good choice. They are the perfect combination between a dog, a cat and maybe that little baby you don’t have yet.
