Ingredients for Spinach Biryani-
2 cups basmati rice
1/2 tsp garlic paste
2 tbsp ghee
2 cinnamon sticks
2 black cardamoms
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon red chili powder
Turmeric 1 tsp
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
2 pinch asafoetida
Mint leaves as required
1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
Water as needed
Salt as required
4 green cardamoms
4 cloves of garlic
2 pinch mace
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
Coriander powder 1 tsp
1 bunch spinach
1/2 handful green coriander
How to make Spinach Biryani-
To make this easy biryani, wash the rice and soak it for 30 minutes. Then pressure cook the rice with 2 cups of water mixed with little salt. Meanwhile, wash the spinach carefully under running water. Now cut them and keep them in a separate bowl. Also wash the mint and coriander leaves. Now add chopped spinach leaves along with mint and green coriander leaves in a blender. Blend to make a smooth paste. Heat ghee in a large pan over medium heat. When hot add ginger and garlic paste, cinnamon paste, green and black cardamom, cloves, bay leaf, mace, red chili powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and coriander powder. Stir fry the ingredients in the pan constantly. Now, in the same pan add the paste you made in the first step. Mix well on medium flame. Now check the rice. When ready, place in the pan and stir well. Now sprinkle some salt on it. Pour some water into the pan and cover it with a lid. Simmer on medium heat for five to ten minutes, until the rice is soaked in the spices and water. Remove the lid and your palak biryani is ready. Garnish with dried red chillies and garlic slices. Serve hot.
